About the Artist

Born in 1960, in the "City of Angels," Erin Wheeler is a native California artist.  She has been blessed with a natural, artistic talent.  Her talent and passion flow from her heart to her paintbrush.

"I have found painting, whether it is realism, impressionism or abstract, to be a truly unique way of transferring inner wisdom and spirituality for others to view."

Driven by the works of the old masters from the Renaissance and Baroque eras and then moving  through time to the more modern era, including the abstract arts, Erin's own artistic creativity combines classic style with a twist of modernism.  She has even developed her own unique glazing technique.

"I believe when I work with a client, my job is to create a work of art to be enjoyed and handed down from
generation to generation."

ART EDUCATION:
Main emphasis of education has been studying the details and brush strokes of different artists from masters such as Caravaggio and DaVinci to VanGogh and Monet.

STYLE:
Anything from realism to abstract.  I try to keep an open mind when creating so that I don't limit myself to just one style, otherwise I find my creativity being cramped.

HOBBIES:
Painting, reading anything on metaphysical or religious philosophies, being outdoors, seeing new sights and adventures.

MANTRA / MOTTO:
"DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY"

FAVORITE STUDIO MUSIC:
Depends on what mood I'm in and what style of painting I'm working with for the day.  If it's abstract, I'll put on something quirky like, "Bela Fleck and the Flectones" or if it's realism, I'll listen to "Enya" or some classical, something along those lines.

INSPIRATION FOR CREATIVE MOODS:
Anything beautiful - of course, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder".  Quiet time - I can let my mind wander and play with ideas.

OTHER PASSIONS:
Using my other senses besides eyesight.  You'd be amazed at the harmony and peace you find!  Take for instance, listening to people laughing (especially little children).  I let this fill me with happiness and joy.  Listening to the wind in the trees fills me with a sense of awe and peace of the great outdoors.  Closing your eyes and touching your lover's face...or something from nature, like a rose...and breathing in their scent can fill me with love.

BEST ADVICE RECEIVED:
Adages because most of them ring true.

PET PEEVE:
Malicious behavior

I'LL KNOW I'VE MADE IT WHEN...
When all is said, done and told...and I'm in heaven!
